Student Embarrasses O'Reilly in Discussion about Drugs
Who is the pinhead?Who is the pinhead?,

Recently on The O'Reilly Factor, Bill O'Reilly had two students on to discuss a controversy involving a high school assembly about sex and drug use. Somehow I missed the controversy itself (which O'Reilly proudly claims to have been responsible for), which centered on the notion that some adults came in to talk to students about the benefits of promiscuous sex and the harmlessness of drug use.

Oh, the outrage! So far, pretty typical O'Reilly, right?

But the student who spoke in support of the assembly, Jesse Lange, was articulate and thoughtful, pointing out that the presenters did in fact talk about the potential negative consequences of drug use, and lauding the ability of the adults to speak honestly. He had all his info lined up, and -- best part -- threw a quote from the book The O'Reilly Factor for Kids back in the host's face. This kid managed to keep his cool and neatly demonstrate the arbitrary (ratings-driven, one might even say) nature of O'Reilly's positions. When O'Reilly protested that the quote (comparing students occasionally smoking marijuana to surgeons relaxing after work with a martini) was taken out of context, Lange was able to tell the viewers the page number so they could look it up themselves.

Awesome. O'Reilly got flustered enough to call Lange a pinhead which just made him look like an asshole.

Before you watch, let me just note that in no way do I support the propagation of the idea that LSD will inspire you to 1) think you can fly and 2) act upon this idea by jumping out a window. Sigh.

Anyway, check it out:
