With the election of Illinois Sen. Barack Obama as the 44th president of the United States, Americans have taken a giant leap forward. It has taken this country 219 years to elect its first African-American president (George Washington was elected in 1789). It is imperative that this historic moment always be viewed within its proper historic context.

He's just like George Bush, except older and with a worse temper.

On September 11th, 2008, I was the keynote speaker at an anti-war event where the Green Party's Vice Presidential candidate, Rose Clemente, put in an appearance -- and speaking of Vice Presidential candidates, the ONLY reason why the Republicans picked Sarah Palin is because the G.O.P. desperately hopes it can pick up all the female voters dissatisfied with the fact that Hillary wasn't nominated or chosen as Obama's VP.

Well, Cynthia McKinney is a woman and SHE'S running for President under the Green Party banner, so those who're so hellbent on voting for a woman this fall have had a presidential ticket with TWO women on it to support all along!

On the 2nd day of the RNC, the Poor Person's March began with arrests, at the Ripple Effect Music Festival in front of the Capital Rage Against the Machine was threatened with arrest if they took the stage, the two events collided, combined, and ended with a peaceful demonstrators delivering a Citizen's Arrest warrant through the fence of the barricade's surrounding the RNC, and, after that, tear gas and concussion grenades.
