For years, motherfuckers have gotten on my case about pop cultural metaphors -- particularly if they concern Star Trek, because out of all the franchises in fictional history, it's the most threatening to the rich (since Gene Roddenberry envisioned a future Earth devoid of poverty) and the powerful (since Starfleet/The Federation follows Amnesty International's rule book while America burns it) ...
