Dennis Kucinich has announced that he will drop his presidential bid. Along with John Edwards, Kucinich also ran in 2004.
According to published reports, Kucinich is concentrating on his own re-election to the U.S. House.
For what you may have thought about Kucinich's run, his ideas were important to have in the race. And while most didn't think he had a chance, he did stay in longer than Joe Biden, Chris Dodd, and Bill Richardson.

Campaign notes from GuardianFilms' New Hampshire team

As protesters and spectators gathered in the snows of St. Anselm College in Manchester last Saturday evening, a big bus pulled up. The door opened and out came the slight figure of Dennis Kucinich. ABC and the local WMUR TV had kicked him out of the debate on grounds he had not established a high enough percentage of support in New Hampshire polling. But everyone knew he had been banished because of his left views on such issues as healthcare - which are starkly different from those of the other candidates and, in debate, sometimes an embarrassment on all sides.

The House voted today to send a resolution considering the impeachment of Vice President Cheney to the Judiciary Committee, a move that embarrassed Democratic leaders who were forced into the parliamentary tactic to avoid a floor debate on impeachment.
Led by Rep. Dennis Kucinich, the long-shot anti-war candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination, scores of Democrats were joined by scores of Republicans in initially supporting a Kucinich resolution that would have prompted a full debate on impeaching Cheney.

Democratic presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich questioned President Bush's mental health in light of comments he made about a nuclear Iran precipitating World War III.
"I seriously believe we have to start asking questions about his mental health," Kucinich, an Ohio congressman, said in an interview with The Philadelphia Inquirer's editorial board on Tuesday. "There's something wrong. He does not seem to understand his words have real impact."
Kucinich, known for his liberal views, trails far behind the leading candidates in most Democratic polls. He was in Philadelphia for a debate at Drexel University.

Kucinich: Congress Must Tell The President ‘No’ To Additional War Funding
Washington, Aug 29 -
Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) issued the following statement calling on Congress to not appropriate any more funds for the war in Iraq, in response to today’s Washington Post report that President Bush plans on asking Congress for $197 billion in funding for the Iraq war for FY 2008:
“We do not have to fund the war. The Democratic leadership must tell the President NO to any additional funding. No legislation is required. No vote is required. We have the money to bring the troops home. It does not require a vote. The only thing required is honesty, integrity and a willingness to end the war,” Kucinich said.
